Winemaker's Notes:

The Oleary Walker Watervale Riesling was grown in traditional soils of red loam over limestone. The west-facing Grace's "dry-grown" vineyard, where the Watervale Riesling is from, is hard-pruned and hand-picked and relies on natural rainfall. The limestone tends holds moisture which assists the vine in hot periods, almost drought-proofing the vines in the summer months. Viticultural practices include vertical shoot positioning which not only encourages even ripening but also provide important shade, which prevents the negative impact of sun-burn on the resultant wine.

The 2007 Watervale Riesling is yet again showing great color and character despite the challenges of the season. Pale straw in color with a slight green tinge, this wine displays great purity of lime, lemon and citrus fruits. The palate is fine, yet intensely limey, leading to a lengthy finish with a clean, crisp, naturally acidic finish and balance.
