Winemaker's Notes:

Reminiscent of a first-class northern Rhone from France. Complex aromatics of smoke, spring flowers, damp earth, blueberries, raspberries, and cherries are followed by a wine with gorgeous ripeness, medium to full body, good underlying acidity as well as purity, fine texture, and superb intensity. This beauty should be consumed over the next 6-7 years.

Reviews:

The 2006 Beautiful Earth Proprietary Red possesses slightly less weight as well as concentration, more noticeable acidity, and elegant blue and red fruit characteristics with an intriguing floral component. Medium-bodied and spicy, it should be enjoyed over the next few years. — Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate Jun 2008

A smooth, graceful, supple style, with crushed berry, spice, pepper and hints of anise, earth and tar. Deliciously elegant and easy-drinking now. Syrah, Grenache and Mourvedre. Drink now through 2011.

Inky ruby. Brooding dark berries and cherry on the nose, along with cocoa and dried violet. Ripe cassis and blueberry flavors coat the palate, picking up bitter chocolate, anise and gingerbread on the back end. Alluring stuff, but could use just a tad more energy on the long, gentle finish.
