Winemaker's Notes:

The ancient vines give this cuvee a wonderfully pure, thick, black currant character in the nose and in the mouth. The wine has exotic aromas of crushed raspberry and is dense, sweet and rich and quite delightful.

90 Points.
The classic 2005 Vacqueyras Vieilles Vignes is a blend of 75% Grenache and 25% Syrah. It exhibits a dense ruby/purple color along with a big, peppery, cassis, licorice, and roasted herb-scented bouquet. This elegant, noble, deep wine should age nicely for 7-8 years.

89 Points.
Deep red. Vibrant, spicy red berry and cherry aromas, with subtle mineral and garrigue undertones. Fine-grained tannins frame fresh strawberry and bitter cherry flavors, finishing with good lift and sneaky persistence. Elegant and understated.
