Pinot Noir Meredith Mitchell

EIEIO

Willamette Valley, Oregon

Vintage: 2006
Composition: Pinot Noir (100)
Alcohol: 14.50%
Type: Red

Winemaker's Notes:

Intense nose with blackberries, cherries and pencil lead being the dominate notes. Secondary aromas of spiced black cherries and plums with black pepper crusted Buffalo filet. Enveloping mouth feel leads to Korean ribs dipped in plum sauce, red cherries, and brambleberry with an intense earthiness. This site tends to be tannic, but by pulling back on the extraction and following with an extended-post-maceration- fermentation, the tannins are in check. The result is a big, powerful wine which is the most balanced of all the 2006s.
