Tasting Notes:
Michel Caillot is a true vine grower. Man full with kindness and simplicity, it launched out in the congestion of his wines some ten years ago. Formerly, he sold his wines in prestigious Maisons of Burgundy.
The field extends on approximately 11 hectares, close to Meursault. Michel Caillot cultivates, vinifies and raises his wines. A true artist. He can limit his outputs to obtain rich and silky wines.
This Burgundy Pinot Noir 2005 is resulting from piece of Monthelie which he preferred to pass in name "Burgundy" this year there. This explains the richness and the complexity which one immediately perceives with the nose.
The color shows a beautiful red crimson with light reflections tiles. The nose is surprising of smoothness and complexity. Then at last is intense, with red and black fruit notes ripe (cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant, black bays...). Light with dimensions of an "animal" does nothing but enrich the identity of the wine.
The mouth is full, complex, and is spiced. Balance is perfect. It associates to perfection power flavours and smoothness of the matter. One would easily take it for a wine of a beautiful name of the coasts of Beaune.
