Winemaker's Notes:

Located in the southeastern corner of Santa Ynez Valley, Three Creek Vineyard is a private property own by Roger and Priscilla Higgins. This 100 acre estate with 25 acres of vineyards was planted with Bordeaux and Rhone varietals in 2000. The fruit is sourced from a single block of 3 acres planted with clone 877 from Cote Rotie on 110R rootstock. The soil is primarily made of shallow low nutrient clay loam, mixed with gravel, chert, granite and serpentine. For the 2006 vintage the yield was 1.7 tons per acre. The vineyard was harvested on October 20th and 30% whole clusters were used in the fermentation, which lasted 13 days. Nothing was added in the must. The wine was aged on the gross lees without racking for 11 months and SO2 was only used once at bottling. Less than 200 cases were produced.
